MANZANO AMARILLO: (A Yellow Orange Rocoto): Manzano translates to "Apple" from Spanish. Very Hot 9/10. These lovely thick-fleshed pods are
2-3", often resembling an apple. Black seeds, purple blooms & "hairy" plant are unique to this species. Probably the best chile you will
ever taste. Sweet apricot-like flavor and slow creeping heat. Salsa, hot sauce, chutneys. Dries well in a dehydrator, smokes VERY well. Often stuffed,
battered and fried in the Hispanic community for a Chile Rellano of sorts. May be difficult to grow in warm, humid climate but we all need a challenge
and something to babysit! Mexico
As described by source "Aji de la puta de su madre. Very Hot Pepper. Pico de Pajaro". A very hot and prolific C. frutescens. Slighty smaller than
the Tabasco sometimes showing a more blunt apex, similar heat and flavor. Puta Madre is something like MF when biting a very hot pepper, call it
"slang".
TABASCO: Very Hot 9-10. 1-1-1/2" pods grow erect on branching plant. Prolific, like little firecrackers pointing to the sky. Thin-fleshed, yet
very juicy pods with unique smokey taste. Ripens from yellowish green-orange-rouge red. The only pepper for the infamous sauce. From Tabasco, Mexico. Birds
love these pods and plant volunteers for you!
Ethiopina Eggplant; Solanum aethiopicum: AKA Pumpkin Tree, Pumpkin Bush, Hmong Eggplant, and Mock Tomato, among others. A rare and edible Solanum
originating in tropical Africa and Asian, gaining popularity in Europe. The leaves of Solanum aethiopicum are eaten as a leaf vegetable and are
actually more nutritious than the fruit. The highly variable fruit of the plant is eaten both raw and cooked and is becoming more popular as a
cultivated crop. These fruits are usually harvested while still green, before the skin becomes thick. The bitterness depends on the levels of saponin it
contains, some with a sweet flavor and others very bitter. When the berries mature, they turn bright red because of high carotene content. Easy to
grow, very ornatmental, an interesting additional to the veggie garden. 20+ seeds.
Quilquiña or Quirquiña Bolivian Coriander - Porophyllum ruderale Used in salsas & salads. Very aromatic & used fresh. Essential for authentic salsa
picante (llauja). Like cilantro, you will either love this herb or hate it. A very strong and unique aroma but a milder flavor. Even the slightest
brush of the plant will release it's warm aroma. It will overseed but is very manageable. Beautiful blue-green foliage, ovate leaves on a tall
cane-like branching plant.
